Every family I know plays the “blame game.”

You know the one I’m talking about. It’s the one where a child does something wrong, and one parent will say to the other “YOUR son/daughter…” Mysteriously, it’s OUR daughter when she’s being good, but only belongs to ONE of us if she’s misbehaving.

In our family we even do it with our dogs.

“What is YOUR dog barking about now?” or “I just had to clean up the mess YOUR dog made!”

Fortunately, our Heavenly Father doesn’t operate the same way. In fact, we have someone – Jesus – begging Him to see the best in us.

The Bible teaches us that Jesus is sitting at His Father’s right hand, pleading with Him to be merciful and see us through the filter of His love.

“Earlier there were a lot of priests, for they died and had to be replaced. But Jesus’ priesthood is permanent. He’s there from now to eternity to save everyone who comes to God through him, always on the job to speak up for them.” Hebrews 7:23-25

Now that’s something to be thankful for, no matter “whose” child you are!
