“We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken.” 2 Corinthians 4:8
I haven’t watched many sporting events in my day, but I have learned something in the few I’ve seen: it’s not over, till it’s over.
Sure, there are some times when one team just runs away with the contest, and the other team doesn’t stand a chance. But sometimes, just when it looks bleak for the underdog, something happens and changes the whole outcome of the game.
Paul captured this in our scripture for today. It might look like we’re down for the count, but don’t count us out!
Surrounded…battered…unsure…spiritually terrorized…thrown down…we’ve all felt like this at one time or another. But remember:
Not demoralized…sure…God by our side…not broken…
Down, but not out!
