Have you ever started a cleaning project that you almost wished you hadn’t?
You know, the kind that the more you clean, the more of a mess you see that needs cleaning? The kind that takes you three times as long as you’d originally thought (at least) to complete?
Much like those cleaning projects, we sometimes have areas in our lives that go deeper than what we’d imagined. The more we delve into “cleaning out” those places in our souls, sometimes, the more “mess” we find in there.
It can make you feel like you’re in over your head, but fortunately, you’ve got help. No matter how tough it gets, never forget that Jesus has come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly – and that whatever you’re facing, whatever baggage you are trying to clean up, it’s never more than He can handle.
Is it unpleasant? Yes. Is it time-consuming? Definitely. But just like having a tidy room to relax in at the end of the day, taking the time to clean out our spiritual homes will make life so much better in the long run.
Call in your divine “Merry Maid” if you need to, but don’t delay another day!
