“Do you know that all over the provinces of both Macedonia and Achaia believers look up to you? The word has gotten around. Your lives are echoing the Master’s Word, not only in the provinces but all over the place. The news of your faith in God is out. We don’t even have to say anything anymore—you’re the message!” I Thess. 1:7-8

As followers of Christ, there is no greater compliment than the one paid by Paul to the believers at Thessolonica – “you’re the message!”

Our lives should be an embodiment of what we believe. Our convictions should be borne out by our actions. Our words should only be backup for what others have already seen us do.

You are the message. You are the Gospel, preached to everyone around you every day. You are the representative of Christ to this fallen world.

It’s a big responsibility, to be sure. But, it’s one that countless others have taken on before us. Our “great cloud of witnesses” tells us that we can live this life the way He intended. Let’s keep this thought in mind as we go through our day, and see how our actions stack up against His expectations.
