“It’s news I’m most proud to proclaim, this extraordinary Message of God’s powerful plan to rescue everyone who trusts him, starting with Jews and then right on to everyone else!” Romans 1:16
“300 days since our last accident!”
“Voted best service in the industry!”
Have you ever noticed all the banners and signs used by businesses and organizations, touting their preeminence and success?
Factories use them to brag about their safety record. Restaurants declare their superior food and service. School districts proclaim their high test scores.
They all have one thing in common: they know it pays to advertise.
They know that it will pay dividends down the road to let everyone know how excellent they are, whether in terms of brand recognition, public perception, or even cold, hard cash.
As Christians, we have a story to tell. Each of us has something to show the world about what Christ did for us. Most of us won’t be buying a banner and putting it up in our front yard or attaching a magnetic sign to our car, but our lives and actions can serve the same purpose. How else are those around us supposed to know about His excellent greatness, unless we tell them and show them?
Like Paul, we should be unashamed of the Gospel. We should take every opportunity to share with others. We should pray for open door and open hearts to let others know just how awesome He is. The rewards that kind of advertising brings are priceless, and they last for an eternity.
