“We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly  mentioning you in our prayers,” 1 Thes. 1:2

When we pray for those around us, we are making an investment in their lives. We transition from being bystanders, commenting on their situation, to partners with them – even if they don’t know it.

We can talk to God about those around us when we can’t speak directly to them. If the problems in their lives overwhelm us, be assured they don’t overwhelm Him. By praying, we are putting in positive action instead of fruitless anxiety. We become invested in their success in a powerful way.

If you really want to effect change in a situation – whether in your sphere of influence or the world at large – pray about it. You will experience the peace of knowing you are doing something to improve the circumstances, and you will see dividends that are priceless.
