“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Mark 6:33
My daughter is in the middle of an achievement program at church, and one of the requirements is that she read the entire New Testament. Many mornings she asks to play a game on my phone or my tablet, but I have to remind her that she hasn’t done her reading yet and that must take precedence.
At this age, her priorities include video games and her favorite television shows. But those aren’t the best priorities. They won’t benefit her like having God’s priorities will.
Simply put, God has one main thing He wants us to do: seek after Him. Everything else will fall into place when we replace our priorities with His. Reading the Word, praying, and worship are a good start.
It isn’t always easy to realign ourselves with what He wants for us, but it will always be for our benefit. How is He speaking to you about your priorities today?
