Church history tells us that in the early years of the church, Christ’s followers faced harsh persecution. They were beaten, imprisoned, and killed. The authorities in Jerusalem tried all they could to smother the gospel.
What they didn’t realize was that the persecuted church would scatter, and the message would spread like wildfire.
Without those difficulties, the early believers may have stayed close to home. They had to get out of their element to fulfill God’s plan for mankind.
Are you being challenged to leave what you know and take a different path? Are things becoming so uncomfortable that you have no choice? Sometimes, God uses those circumstances to grow us in a new direction we would not have considered otherwise.
