“He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground,” Psalm 107:33

The forecaster on the radio said it was going to rain. I already knew, because I felt the beginnings of a headache I was beginning to suspect was tied to the barometric pressure. My sister, who had suffered several broken bones after an accident in middle school, was also alerted to the change in weather by her aching bones. Chances are, you (or someone you know) have similar experiences.

What brings relief in these cases? The release of pressure when it finally begins to rain. The water washes the earth and sets everything to rights.

Many times in scripture, God is pictured as bringing rain, water, rivers where they are needed most. Dry places are restored and life can begin anew after He brings His cleansing streams.

Do you have dry places? Are your bones aching under the pressure building around you? Let Him rain in your life, bringing streams of living water. He will make everything new, and you will find renewed strength for your journey.
