You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord , do I seek.” Psalm 27:8
Picture this: you are in a classroom, listening to a lecture. The teacher, though, isn’t facing the classroom. She is facing the wall! The class can barely make out what she is saying, because her voice is aimed away from them.
Now, think about how most people approach God. They may seek His hand (of blessing.) They may feel like just being in His general vicinity is enough. But over and over again scripture is clear: we are to seek God’s face. It’s the only way we can be sure we are hearing Him clearly. We won’t grow in our relationship with Him if we don’t know what He is saying to us.
Don’t be content to just be “around.” Don’t just look for what He can give you. Seek His face, and everything else falls into line.
