“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10
When you are facing a problem you can’t seem to solve, it can be mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausting trying to figure it out on your own.
(Been there, done that, got the gray hair to prove it!)
But there is a reason sometimes that we hit that wall and discover our inadequacy. While Psalm 46:10 is often quoted to help comfort us in times of trouble, the second half often gets left out: I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!
Sometimes, we hit a bump in the road for no other reason than God’s glory. Maybe we need to be reminded of His great power, or maybe someone around us needs to be convinced of it. Whatever it is, we have to let Him handle it. When we can’t do it on our own, we have to throw our hands up, take a step back, and let Him take control.
Humans are a stubborn, stiff-necked bunch. God has known this since before He created us! But we have to learn how to let go, and let Him work in our lives. The sooner we do that, the more sleepless nights, gray hair, and headaches we will save ourselves and those around us.
