If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you! Proverbs 11:27

If you spend much time looking at online classified ads or “swap shops” you will often see the letters “ISO.” They stand for “In Search Of,” and they mean someone is looking for something that he or she doesn’t already see offered for sale. It might be a particular appliance, or a size of clothing, or whatever, but it is usually pretty specific. The buyer knows what he or she wants and is going to extra trouble to obtain it.

If our lives had an ISO section today, what would it list? What have you been searching for? If it is the things of God, scripture promises that’s what we will find. But if we are “searching” for the wrong things – either intentionally or unintentionally – we will be sure to find that too.

So I’ll ask again: what are you searching for? God has promised to be found if we will only seek Him. Let’s be more intentional today about searching for good, Godly things, instead of the things this world has to offer.
