…but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. Luke 2:10

Have you ever gone through a time of extended trial, leading you to become discouraged? And then, out of nowhere, you receive an unexpected blessing that lifts your spirits?

Has that blessing, that grace and mercy, then made you feel guilty for your discouragement?

Don’t let it.

God knows we are human and we struggle. He knows we question His ways and His motives. He knows we become weary and downtrodden at times. But then…

An angel appears out of nowhere, bringing warmth to the hearts of shepherds on a cold winter night.

That angel told them not to be afraid, right off the bat. Before the good news was delivered,  they were reassured that their fear was unnecessary.  No guilt was needed over their trepidation in their shock at the events currently unfolding before them.

Don’t let the enemy steal the joy God is trying to bring you with guilt over your fear and doubt. He understands. That’s why in His mercy He allows us times of joy and refreshing.  He knows it will stengthen and encourage us to keep going.

Yes, we fight, and we grow weary and worn. But then we hear some good news, and we regain our strength. Recieve that gift today, and let it encourage you as the Giver intended.
