“Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:2

When you think of the Christmas season, what are the messages we’re bombarded with?

Shop. Buy. Give. Cook. Eat. Decorate. Celebrate!

There is but one message, though, that our Father is trying to get to us.

Worship. Just…worship.

Yes, it’s fun to do all those other things (most of the time, anyway!) But they aren’t required of us – no matter what Madison Avenue would lead you to believe.

All He wants is all of us. All He requires is our hearts turned in awe of the Savior’s birth. All He asks is that we bow down and honor Him.

Whatever is taking your focus today, right in the middle of the celebration, maybe it’s time to look Heavenward. Maybe it’s appropriate to quiet ourselves and meditate on the unspeakable gift of Jesus.

Maybe all we need is to just…worship.
