“You have not handed me over to my enemies but have set me in a safe place.” Psalm 31:8

The dogs on the front porch started barking,  and on the other side of the window Lucy the bunny started to panic.

She didn’t know that the dogs weren’t barking at her.  She didn’t know that there was a wall between the two and she was safe.  All she heard was the barking,  and it caused her to run in frantic circles around the room.

But all along,  she was safe. Protected.  Cared for.

Our enemy wants to scare us.  He wants us to believe that he can destroy us. But our God is greater than any threat he can throw out at us.  As children of God,  we have a protection that money can’t buy.

It doesn’t mean that bad things won’t happen to us,  because never in scripture is that promised. What is promised is that the Lord will be with us every step of the way,  keeping His mighty hand upon our lives.

Don’t be like Lucy.  Don’t panic when you perceive danger has come your way. Trust the One who can keep you through any storm,  and rest securely in His care.

No need to fear!
