“When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.” Proverbs 10:25
If you think about it, meteorologists have a tough job. They are expected to predict something that is totally out of their control, using computers and the observations of their colleagues. And if they get it wrong, boy, do folks get upset!
It would be nice if we had some warning when life’s storms were headed our way. We might choose to do things differently to avoid or reduce our problems. Unfortunately, the only forecast we get is the knowledge that in this fallen world we live in, troubles and trials are part of life.
If we know the Lord, we do have a promise: He will be with us, no matter what we walk through. We may not feel His presence at the time, and we may doubt His Providence, but our faith tells us that He is there nonetheless. Eventually we will see His hand.
The old saying goes, either you are walking into, through, or out of a storm. Whichever is your situation today, keep seeking His face as He guides you through.
Definitely fits my life at the moment – today was the worst day of illness I can recall, and I dread the morning. I don’t know what it will bring.
The duties remain the same, and there is little prospect for relief.
I’ve stopped asking for God to heal me, or even give me strength. I’m happy with what He does give – the ability to make it to the end of each day.
Bad weather, yes, but good God.
