“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10
Our enemy’s purpose can be boiled down to three simple terms: steal, kill, destroy.
He wants to steal your peace of mind.
He wants to kill your spirit.
He wants to destroy your future.
God’s purpose in our lives can be summed up this way, too: abundance.
He wants us to have abundant peace: overflowing to bring peace to those around us.
He wants us to have an abundant spirit: overflowing to meet the needs of others.
He wants us to have an abundant future: overflowing to touch generations to come.
Jesus didn’t say He came to bring us an easy life. He didn’t say He came to bring us a life free from problems. But He did promise that He would give us sufficient grace to endure, and even more to flow out and bring His grace, peace, and hope to the world.
The thief takes.
The Lord gives.
The thief curses.
The Lord blesses.
