“I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.” Genesis 12:2
Blessed to be a blessing.
Often, we think about that phrase in monetary terms. We think about people who have been blessed with financial resources and are generous with others. While it is important that we share our blessings with others in that area, what about the other, less tangible things we can share?
If you have been blessed with good health, you can pray and care for those dealing with illnesses.
If you have been blessed with a good marriage, you can mentor other couples.
If you have been blessed with a stable family life, you can open your doors to children who need a listening ear and a safe place to land.
We have all been provided with gifts by our Heavenly Father. Some are more easily quantified than others, but all were meant to benefit more than just ourselves. Count your blessings, especially when you are feeling discouraged, and see how you can reach out to a world in need of a blessing.
