“For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

Last week, a good friend made the comment to me, “Smartphones are ruining our brains!” She was referring to the constant stream of information we have become accustomed to, right at our fingertips. It started before our phones were “smart” though — I’ll admit I don’t know my mother’s own phone number anymore and have to look it up in my contacts! Now, whatever question we have can be answered with a quick Google search.

But what about the real knowledge and wisdom we need? Sure, Google can help us find the name of that song fragment we can’t get out of our heads. But what do we do when a serious dilemma confronts us?

We must be prepared to run to the One with all knowledge. We must rely on the One who is all knowing. We must seek the counsel of the One who has all of eternity in His view. The Lord has promised over and over again to grant us the real knowledge and wisdom we need. We just have to keep seeking after Him.

Does this mean that we will get those answers right away, or even in our lifetime? No. But it does mean that as we walk with Him, He can give us what we need, when we need it.

I pray today that He will grant you grace, knowledge, and wisdom for whatever you face today – no Google needed!
